TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk: Dates, Theme and What to Expect From Russia’s Major Technology Forum

Russia’s major technology forum will bring together scientists, industry leaders and policymakers in Novosibirsk from August 26–28, with AI, robotics, SKIF, biotechnology and advanced energy on the agenda.

TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk will open next week as Russia prepares to bring together researchers, technology companies, industrial enterprises and government representatives for one of the country’s major science and innovation forums.

The XIII International Forum for Technological Development will take place from August 26 to 28 at the Novosibirsk Expocentre on Stantsionnaya Street.

This year’s central theme is “Russian Science – the Foundation of Technological Leadership,” placing scientific research and its practical application at the centre of the three-day programme.

The forum is being held during Russia’s Decade of Science and Technology and is expected to focus on how research, industry and education can work more closely together to develop and introduce advanced technologies.

When and Where Is TECHNOPROM 2026?

TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk will be held from Wednesday, August 26, through Friday, August 28.

The main venue is the Novosibirsk Expocentre, a large exhibition and conference complex in the Siberian city.

The official forum programme includes conferences, panel discussions, working meetings, exhibitions and presentations involving scientific institutions, universities, industrial companies, development organisations and government bodies.

Participation is also open to visitors through registration, with the forum offering access to business-programme events, exhibition activities and selected parts of the cultural programme.

The growing scale of TECHNOPROM has made it one of the more prominent science and technology gatherings held outside Moscow.

According to organisers, participation has increased from around 12,000 people representing 19 countries in 2022 to almost 20,000 delegates from 33 countries at last year’s forum.

What Is the Theme of TECHNOPROM 2026?

The focus of TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk is the relationship between scientific research and technological leadership.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said in a message published by the organisers that participants would discuss national projects related to technological leadership, achievements in Russian science and high-tech industry, and the introduction of knowledge-intensive technologies into the economy.

Novosibirsk Governor Andrey Travnikov described the forum as a meeting place for research centres, state corporations, businesses and government agencies.

Rather than focusing on a single branch of technology, TECHNOPROM is designed around the wider process of moving scientific developments from laboratories into practical industrial and commercial use.

That gives the event a broad programme covering everything from artificial intelligence and robotics to nuclear technology, new materials, healthcare and agriculture.

AI, Robotics and Advanced Industry on the Agenda

Artificial intelligence is one of the main technology areas scheduled for discussion at TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk.

One of the forum’s ten thematic tracks is dedicated to intelligent systems and hybrid intelligence, including systems in which humans work alongside artificial intelligence.

The programme also covers adaptive AI models capable of interacting with the physical world through robots and unmanned systems.

Industrial automation will form another major part of the programme.

Sessions are expected to examine technologies used for industrial and transport safety, microelectronics sensors, robotics and advanced imaging systems, including thermal imagers, tomography equipment, microscopes and particle detectors.

The emphasis is not simply on demonstrating new technology but on examining where such systems can be introduced into industry and infrastructure.

SKIF Synchrotron Set to Be Major Highlight

One of the most important scientific developments connected with this year’s forum is the Siberian Circular Photon Source, known as SKIF.

SKIF is a fourth-generation-plus synchrotron research facility located in the science town of Koltsovo in the Novosibirsk Region.

The TECHNOPROM organisers describe its inauguration as one of the major scientific events associated with the 2026 forum.

Governor Travnikov has said the launch of the megascience-class facility will provide new opportunities for both fundamental and applied scientific research.

Synchrotron facilities generate extremely intense beams of electromagnetic radiation that allow scientists to study materials and biological structures at very small scales.

Such facilities can support research across physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, medicine and other disciplines.

The role of megascience facilities such as SKIF has therefore been given its own thematic track at TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk.

Medicine, Biotechnology and Food Security

Technology in healthcare will also feature prominently.

The forum programme includes a track titled “Medicine of the Future: Technology Time,” focusing on personalised medicine and the growing use of genetic, physiological and lifestyle data in prevention and treatment.

Another programme area will examine bioeconomy, bioengineering and smart agriculture.

This includes technologies for developing new crop varieties, biological products and more efficient agricultural systems.

The theme links scientific research with food security and the wider challenge of improving agricultural productivity through technology.

New Energy, Materials and Environmental Technology

Energy innovation is another major part of TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk.

The business programme includes discussions on new nuclear and energy technologies and their potential role in meeting future energy needs.

A separate track focuses on new materials and chemistry, including the development of substances designed with specific physical and functional properties.

Environmental technology also has a dedicated place in the programme.

The forum’s environmental track will examine the interaction between people, technology and the biosphere, reflecting the growing role of environmental considerations in industrial and scientific development.

Interestingly, environmental science will also feature in the 2026 edition of the All-Russian Scientific and Technological Dictation connected with TECHNOPROM.

Organisers say this year’s educational exercise will test participants’ knowledge of environmental science and technologies affecting the environment.

Science, Education and Industry Come Together

Another major focus of TECHNOPROM is the workforce needed to develop and operate advanced technologies.

One of the ten programme tracks is dedicated specifically to personnel for national technological leadership projects.

The discussions will examine how education, industry and government can cooperate to train engineers, scientists and other specialists needed for technology-intensive sectors.

The wider programme also includes universities and research organisations alongside industrial businesses and investors.

That mix is central to the forum’s model: scientific ideas are discussed not only by researchers, but also by organisations capable of financing, manufacturing or deploying new technologies.

Why Novosibirsk Matters

Novosibirsk has long been one of Russia’s important scientific centres.

The region includes Akademgorodok, major institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk State University and a growing network of technology and research infrastructure.

New scientific facilities are also being developed in the region.

The official TECHNOPROM programme highlights the construction of a modern university campus in Novosibirsk covering approximately 78,000 square metres, including laboratories, accommodation and new educational facilities.

The combination of academic research, engineering, industry and new scientific infrastructure makes the city a natural setting for a forum centred on technological development.

TECHNOPROM Continues to Expand

TECHNOPROM has developed from a regional technology event into an international forum attracting participants from dozens of countries.

Its audience now includes scientists, inventors, engineers, technology entrepreneurs, venture investors, universities, government agencies, state corporations and industrial companies.

The forum also provides an exhibition platform where regions, companies and institutions can present technological projects and research developments.

For TECHNOPROM 2026 Novosibirsk, the programme reflects a particularly broad view of technology — linking AI, robotics, medicine, agriculture, nuclear energy, environmental science, advanced materials and megascience infrastructure within the same event.

When the forum opens on August 26, attention will be centred not only on new technologies themselves, but on how Russia intends to connect scientific research with industrial development, education and practical implementation.
