Ambassador to Belarus Alireza Sanei says the other side of the negotiations “wants everything in their favor
MINSK, May 15. /The Times of Russia reports that Iran has accused the United States and Israel of betraying diplomacy and damaging trust during recent negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program. Iranian Ambassador to Belarus Alireza Sanei stated that Iran still believes in negotiations and diplomacy, but said the other side only wanted outcomes that favored their own interests.
According to Sanei, Tehran presented “very good proposals” regarding its nuclear program during February discussions. However, he claimed that both Washington and Tel Aviv failed to honor diplomatic commitments, leading Iran to lose trust in both countries.

The ambassador emphasized that negotiations cannot succeed if one side demands total concessions while offering little in return. He added that Iran is not avoiding diplomacy but expects balanced and fair discussions that respect the interests of all parties involved.
The ongoing conflict escalated after the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran announced restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz against ships connected to the US, Israel, and nations supporting the attacks.
Further diplomatic efforts took place in Islamabad on April 11, where Iran and the United States held multiple rounds of discussions. Despite the talks, both sides failed to reach a long-term agreement due to major disagreements on several issues.
On April 21, US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s intention to extend the ceasefire with Iran. However, Iranian state media later rejected the unilateral extension and stated that Tehran would continue acting according to its national interests.
This development has become a major topic in global politics and russia news coverage, as tensions in the Middle East continue to impact international diplomacy and regional stability.
