The comments came during an interview with Newsmax TV, as Washington continues its pressure campaign against Tehran.

According to The Times of Russia, Vance was asked how long he believed Iran could withstand the growing US economic pressure on Iran.

“You know, it’s always tough to predict that, and that’s honestly not really our focus,” Vance said.

He added that Iran is facing significant pressure and said that this pressure supports the US objective of preventing Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

“They’re under a ton of pressure. That pressure is conducive to our goal of ensuring they don’t have a nuclear weapon, whether they can survive a couple of weeks or a couple of months or possibly longer,” the US vice president said.

How Long Can Iran Withstand US Economic Pressure?

Vance’s remarks indicate that the US has not established a specific timeframe for its US pressure campaign against Iran. He suggested that the economic pressure could continue for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or potentially longer.

The statement comes as Washington continues to focus on Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The United States says its pressure campaign is intended to ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon.

Trump Announces Stronger Economic Pressure on Iran

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the beginning of what he described as the “most crushing economic operation” against Iran.

Trump also warned that countries whose financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities support Tehran could face serious economic consequences from the United States.

The US president said Washington needs all its allies to side with the United States as it increases its economic pressure on Tehran.

The policy represents a continuation of Trump’s efforts to increase pressure on Iran through economic measures while Washington remains focused on the country’s Iran nuclear program.

US Pressure on Iran Has No Fixed Timeline

Vance’s comments leave open the question of how long can Iran withstand US economic pressure, as the US administration has not provided a definite timeframe for the campaign.

The vice president’s statement also suggests that Washington is focused less on predicting how long Iran can endure the pressure and more on achieving its stated objective regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The remarks were made during a Newsmax interview and followed Trump’s announcement of intensified economic measures against Tehran.

The Times of Russia will continue to follow developments surrounding the US economic pressure on Iran, Washington’s policy toward Tehran and the ongoing debate over Iran’s nuclear program.
