WASHINGTON, October 13 (The Times of Russia): US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to prioritize negotiations to settle the ongoing conflict, saying that reaching a Ukraine peace deal should take precedence over public discussions.

Trump made the remarks while responding to criticism from fellow Republicans regarding the diesel agreement between Moscow and Washington. He defended the arrangement, describing it as a deal intended to benefit the wider world and predicting that it would have a significant effect on global energy markets.

Trump Says Zelensky Should Prioritize a Ukraine Peace Deal

Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before leaving for Ohio, Trump emphasized that Zelensky should concentrate on negotiations to resolve the conflict.

The US president said that the Ukrainian leader should focus on achieving an agreement rather than continuing to discuss the issue publicly.

“I do think this – Zelensky has to focus on making a deal, not talking about that,” Trump said.

His comments highlighted his position that Zelensky peace deal negotiations should remain a priority in efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict settlement.

Trump Defends the Russia-US Diesel Agreement

Alongside his remarks about the conflict, Trump addressed criticism from fellow Republicans over the diesel agreement between Russia and the United States.

Defending the arrangement, he said it was intended to serve the interests of the international community and would have a substantial impact on energy markets.

Trump’s statement linked the Russia US diesel agreement to broader global energy considerations, as he responded to questions about the deal and its implications.

The president’s comments came as he reiterated his view on the need for progress toward resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine Peace Negotiations Remain in Focus

Trump’s remarks put renewed emphasis on the importance of negotiations in addressing the Ukraine conflict. His call for Zelensky to concentrate on an agreement reflects his stated preference for efforts aimed at reaching a settlement.

While addressing reporters before his departure for Ohio, Trump reiterated that making a deal should be the Ukrainian president’s primary focus.

As reported by The Times of Russia, Trump’s statement combined his position on the Ukraine conflict with his defense of the diesel agreement between Moscow and Washington, which he said would have a significant impact on global energy markets.
