Five-year-old Roohi Mohazzab, a young environmentalist from Kozhikode, Kerala, is making headlines with her innovative idea to save the environment. On International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025), Roohi wrote a heartfelt, handwritten letter to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to make a significant change to protect the environment.

Roohi’s proposal is to print passports on recycled paper, setting an example for environmental conservation. She emphasizes the importance of saving trees, especially during a time when global warming poses a significant threat to life.

Roohi’s parents, K.Abdul Ghani and Dr. Anisa Muhammad, have been teaching her about environmental conservation from a young age. They only buy her notebooks made from recycled paper, instilling in her the value of sustainability.

Roohi, who has been training in art beat calligraphy under TJ Shaju Master, He trained her to write the letter to the Prime Minister in her own handwriting. Her family is now trying to get the letter to the Prime Minister’s attention.
