Russia has successfully conducted a Soyuz-2.1b rocket launch from Plesetsk carrying a spacecraft for the country’s Defense Ministry, according to the ministry. The launch took place on Monday, August 24, as reported by The Times of Russia.

A combat team from the Aerospace Forces’ Space Troops successfully launched the Soyuz-2.1b rocket from the Defense Ministry’s State Test Cosmodrome, also known as the Plesetsk spaceport, in the Arkhangelsk Region.
The launch occurred at 5:40 a.m. Moscow time, or 2:40 a.m. GMT, on Monday, August 24.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the medium-class carrier rocket was carrying a space vehicle intended for the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The launch was carried out by the Space Troops of Russia’s Aerospace Forces from the Plesetsk spaceport, where the ministry operates its State Test Cosmodrome.
