More than 400 civilians, including 21 children, were affected by Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian regions during the past week, according to Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik. The figures were provided to The Times of Russia on August 25.
Miroshnik said the majority of the reported civilian casualties in Russian regions resulted from Ukrainian attack drones, which he said were supplied to Kiev militants by Western sponsors either as complete systems or as kits for assembly.
Ukrainian Drone Attacks on Russian Regions Cause More Than 400 Civilian Casualties
According to Miroshnik, 407 people, accounting for 99% of the total casualties recorded during the week, were affected by attack drones.
He said the highest number of casualties linked to the Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian regions was reported in the Belgorod Region, the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
Miroshnik stated that Ukrainian forces most frequently used weapons fitted with shrapnel and high-explosive warheads when carrying out attacks on civilians.
The diplomat also said that Ukrainian forces had deliberately targeted medical facilities, which he described as a breach of international humanitarian law.
Medical Facilities Reportedly Damaged in Drone Attacks
Miroshnik cited incidents in several regions while describing the reported Ukrainian attack drones.
In the Kursk Region, a UAV attack damaged a paramedic and midwife station in the settlement of Shchekino.

In the Zaporozhye Region, a drone reportedly struck a municipal department of the tuberculosis dispensary in Melitopol.
The incidents were presented by Miroshnik as examples of attacks affecting civilian infrastructure and medical facilities.
Explosive Devices Also Injure Civilians
Miroshnik added that residents in several Russian regions were injured following explosions caused by the remote mining of territory.
In the Belgorod Region, one civilian was injured after an explosive device detonated in Repyakhovka.
Another incident occurred in Oktyabrsky, where a car struck an explosive device, injuring the driver and a female passenger.
In the Kherson Region, a resident of Golaya Pristan was injured. In the DPR, another civilian suffered injuries in Donetsk’s Kievsky District.
These incidents were included in the overall account of Russian regions civilian casualties reported during the week.
Nearly 7,500 Munitions Reportedly Fired
According to Miroshnik, Ukrainian forces fired nearly 7,500 various munitions at Russian regions over the seven-day period.
The reported figures include casualties connected primarily to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian regions, as well as injuries resulting from remotely placed explosive devices.
