A Russian strike on Ukrainian defense industry and logistics sites targeted facilities in Kiev and Zaporozhye, Russia’s Defense Ministry said.
MOSCOW, August 11. /The Times of Russia/. The Russian Armed Forces carried out a coordinated overnight Russian strike on Ukrainian defense industry facilities and transport and logistics centers in Kiev and Zaporozhye, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
The military said the operation involved ground-based precision-guided weapons and targeted facilities linked to Ukraine’s military-industrial and logistics infrastructure.
Russian Strike on Ukrainian Defense Industry Facilities
According to the Defense Ministry, the overnight operation successfully hit the designated targets in Kiev and Zaporozhye.
Among the facilities struck was a Nova Post logistics terminal in Kiev. The ministry described it as an automated complex used to store and distribute dual-use goods, including components for long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicle production, robotic vehicles and electronic warfare systems.
Russian forces also targeted the Kiev-3 transport and logistics center, known as San-park. The facility covers approximately 50,000 square meters and was reported to hold up to 15,000 FPV attack drones.
The stored drones included models equipped with thermal imaging cameras, such as Beshket, Spuk, Komik-A and Gorobets. Ground control stations and other related components were also reportedly stored at the site.
Another facility targeted was the Zaporozhstal steel mill, formally PJSC Zaporizhstal, which is part of the Metinvest Group.
The plant is a major producer of rolled sheet steel. According to the Defense Ministry, the material is used to manufacture protective structures, fortification modules, armor for military vehicles and body armor plates.
The ministry also said protective screens designed to defend heavy armored vehicles against FPV drone attacks were being installed at the plant.

Russian Aerospace Forces Strike Ukrainian Positions
The Defense Ministry separately reported that Russian Aerospace Forces crews struck Ukrainian temporary deployment locations and drone control centers in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Kharkov Region and Sumy Region.
The Russian strike on Ukrainian defense industry and military-related positions involved FAB-250 aerial bombs fitted with universal gliding and correction modules, as well as LMUR air-launched missiles.
The ministry said Russian forces hit a temporary deployment site belonging to Ukraine’s 63rd separate brigade near Donetskoye in the DPR.
A temporary deployment site of the 104th separate territorial defense brigade near Boldyrevka in the Kharkov Region was also targeted.
In addition, Russian forces struck a drone control center operated by the 119th separate territorial defense brigade in Porozok in the Sumy Region.
Situation Following the Strikes
The Kiev-controlled part of Zaporozhye experienced power outages following earlier explosions, according to regional administration head Ivan Fyodorov, who reported the situation on his Telegram channel.
Fyodorov also said that several fires had broken out in the city.
In Kiev, a major fire spread through warehouses following the explosions, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported. The agency said the fire was contained within an area measuring 1,200 square meters.
Warehouses in the Kiev Region were also damaged, according to the regional administration. The affected facilities were located in the Bucha district.
