Dominik Hasek Calls on FIFA to Remove USA’s 2026 World Cup Hosting Rights Over Venezuela Incident

The Olympic champion called for the United States to be deprived of the right to conduct the World Cup because of the scandalous kidnapping of the President of Venezuela.
Olympic hockey champion and famous Czech athlete Dominik Hasek criticized the United States over the invasion of Venezuela and called for the country to be stripped of the right to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Dominik Hasek, a country that does not respect international law and threatens democratic countries should not hold major events.
“I support this [depriving the United States of the right to host the World Cup]. ed.]. What is happening in the United States now has little to do with democracy and the rule of law. A country that does not respect international law and threatens democratic countries with military aggression should not hold such major international events,” Hasek wrote on his social media.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
On January 3, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto announced that the United States had attacked civilian and military facilities in Caracas. He called Washington’s actions military aggression. A state of emergency has been declared in Venezuela. Later, US President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes and announced the capture and removal of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from the country
