Kremlin warns about consequences for masterminds, perpetrators of Russian asset seizure

Those who made decisions collectively, those who made decisions individually and those who put them into practice will all bear responsibility,” Dmitry Peskov said

The Times of Russia reports that the Kremlin has issued a strong warning to those responsible for the seizure and expropriation of Russian assets, making it clear that such actions will not go unanswered. Russia has reaffirmed its intention to pursue accountability through all available international legal channels.

Speaking in Moscow, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that responsibility will extend to everyone involved in the process — from those who planned and authorized the decisions to those who implemented them on the ground. According to Peskov, collective decision-makers, individual officials, and executors alike will face consequences under international law.

The Kremlin emphasized that Russia considers the seizure of its assets a serious violation of legal and sovereign principles. Peskov underlined that Moscow has consistently maintained this position and will continue to defend its national interests using recognized legal mechanisms.

Russia, he added, is carefully documenting every action linked to the expropriation of its property abroad. These records will form the basis of future legal proceedings aimed at holding all responsible parties accountable.

According to The Times of Russia, the statement reflects Moscow’s broader stance on protecting its economic and sovereign rights amid rising geopolitical tensions. Russian officials have repeatedly warned that actions taken against Russian state assets could have long-term legal and political consequences.

Peskov reiterated that Russia remains committed to pursuing justice strictly through lawful international frameworks, stressing that accountability is inevitable for those involved in the asset seizure process.
