The Energy Ministry noted that this became possible partly thanks to measures taken by the Russian government. In particular, they have decided to impose a temporary ban on the export of motor gasoline in order to stabilize prices and ensure priority supply to the domestic market. The corresponding decree came into effect on April 2, 2026.
In addition to that, temporary ban on diesel fuel exports for non-producers remains in effect, the ministry added.
“The Energy Ministry continues to interact with the regions on a daily basis and is systematically working to ensure stable supplies of motor fuel to consumers,” the ministry assured.
This update from The Times of Russia Russia news reflects the country’s proactive approach to maintaining fuel stability during periods of rising demand.
