Aquarium of Happiness": An Indian Father Finds the Soul of a Russian Boy
BRICS-backed film project aims to strengthen family values and revive Indo-Russian cultural ties

Moscow/New Delhi: The Russian film company Raketa Film, in collaboration with the BRICS Culture Media Forum (BCMF), has launched the production of a groundbreaking international project titled “Aquarium of Happiness.” More than just a film, the project aspires to become a cultural bridge between nations, highlighting themes of family, compassion, and traditional values across the BRICS community.

According to the creators, “Aquarium of Happiness” has the potential to be a milestone in Indo-Russian cultural relations, while also resonating globally by promoting unity, responsibility, and love across generations.
A Story of Compassion and Connection
The film follows the journey of a seven-year-old Russian boy, raised by his grandmother, who sets out in search of his absent father. In a twist of fate, he meets Azhit, an Indian man living in Moscow, who compassionately claims to be the boy’s father. What follows is a heartwarming and adventurous journey filled with humor, love, and emotional depth.
Ekaterina Madalinskaya, the General Producer and author of the idea, explains:
“Aquarium of Happiness is a film about reviving the spirit of friendship between nations. During the Soviet era, there was a natural bond between people of different cultures — we now wish to extend this warmth across all BRICS countries and beyond.”
A BRICS Cultural Milestone Dr. Sergey Dvoryanov, Director of Communications at BCMF and one of the film’s producers, emphasized the deeper significance of the project:
“It is important for us to create a film filled with spiritual meaning. Though it is a comedy and an adventure, the underlying message is about responsibility for future generations. BRICS today sets the tone globally, and we hope to premiere this film at the upcoming BRICS Global Summit during India’s chairmanship.”
He also highlighted plans for casting, noting that the role of the Indian father will ideally be filled by a prominent Bollywood actor, making the project a true cultural co-production.
Reviving the Spirit of Friendship
The film, while rooted in a simple and touching story, carries a larger vision — strengthening family bonds, preserving traditions, and promoting cultural unity. By merging Russian storytelling with Indian warmth and Bollywood’s emotional depth, “Aquarium of Happiness” aspires to become a cultural hallmark of the BRICS alliance.
