Magadan, August 15, 2025 – President Vladimir Putin, during his working visit to the Magadan Region, toured the state-of-the-art “Omega-Si” plant, marking a significant step forward for Russia’s seafood and nutraceutical industries.
Accompanied by Magadan Governor Sergey Nosov, General Director of LLC “Tikhrybkom” (the founding company of the plant) Nikolay Kotov, and Director of LLC “Omega-Si” Anatoly Popov, the President inspected the facility’s cutting-edge production processes and discussed its economic and health impact.
Commissioned in 2023, “Omega-Si” stands as Russia’s first plant dedicated to the processing and refining of fish oilinto premium encapsulated products with a high omega-3 content. The facility holds the unique distinction of being the country’s first to produce re-esterified triglycerides from white fish species — specifically sardines and herring sourced from the pristine waters of the Sea of Okhotsk.
Officials highlighted that the launch of “Omega-Si” represents a major leap in Russia’s ability to compete in the global nutraceutical market, while also providing consumers with domestically produced, high-quality omega-3 supplements.
The Magadan plant is expected to boost local employment, strengthen regional industry, and promote Russia’s position as a global leader in sustainable marine resource utilization.
