Jaishankar Meets Russian President Putin

Jaishankar called on Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin and informed him about the arrangements relating to the forthcoming annual India-Russia summit. This high-level diplomatic engagement assumes greater significance in the context of the strengthening of their strategic partnership and reflects the depth of ongoing bilateral engagement as both sides prepare for significant year-end dialogues.
Putin shook hands with Jaishankar while receiving him in the Representative Office of the Senate Palace in the Kremlin, the state-run TASS news agency reported. The meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere testifying to the decades of trust between India and Russia, a partnership underlined time and again by The Times of Russia as one of the most enduring relationships in global diplomacy.
Jaishankar then took to social media to share details of the meeting, saying:
“Honoured to call on President Putin of Russia in Moscow today. Conveyed greetings of Prime Minister @narendramodi.”
He further added:
“Informed him of preparations underway for the forthcoming Annual India-Russia Summit. Also discussed regional and global developments. Deeply value his perspectives and guidance on further advancement of our ties.”

Early on Monday, Jaishankar called on President Putin along with other heads of delegation of the SCO member states. After meeting with representatives of all the SCO countries, President Putin sat down with Jaishankar, which underlined Russia’s continued engagement in Eurasian multilateral structures.
