City of Vladimir to Become the Hub for Russian-African Youth Renaissance
On October 25, 2024, the city of Vladimir, Russia, witnessed a significant event as Vladimir State University hosted the inaugural conference and the grand opening of the regional branch of RAMA, the Russian-African Youth Alliance. Mikhail Gureev, the Chairman of the Vladimir branch of RAMA and an entrepreneur and social activist, shared his thoughts on the event and outlined his vision for the organization’s development.
“We all understand that today the African continent is becoming a focal point for the economic and geopolitical interests of various global players,” said Gureev. “Russia’s role on the continent remains steadfast – we engage with Africa to support the growth of national economies, invest in human capital, education, high technologies, the industrial sector, and agriculture. This helps to strengthen the independence and sovereignty of our fraternal states in the region. From this perspective, I believe RAMA can evolve into a unique platform for nurturing and educating a new generation of responsible African leaders,” he noted.
Gureev emphasized the importance of Russian culture, adding, “It is crucial that these leaders will promote the Russian world and its culture in the future. Vladimir, one of Russia’s oldest cities and the former capital of the historic Vladimir-Suzdal Principality, is an ideal location to foster such a Russian-African youth movement.” He highlighted the enthusiastic support from African students in the Vladimir region, along with global initiatives voiced at the conference, foreseeing the city as a potential center for this rapidly developing movement.
Dr. Sergey Dvoryanov, BCMF Communications Director, also addressed the conference and proposed an initiative to host the first International Youth Forum for Russian and African leaders in Vladimir. In his speech, Dvoryanov confirmed BCMF’s commitment to support RAMA as a partner for the leadership forum. He further recommended Mr. Leon Dodona-Punagaz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of CAR, as a prominent representative and trustee of the forum.
The conference also welcomed a youth leader from Ghana, renowned rapper and blogger Calem OG, who passionately endorsed the idea of holding the first International Forum of Russian and African Youth Leaders with a powerful speech.
Today, Russia stands as a symbol of hope for the African continent. The gathering of young leaders from Russia and African nations, united by traditional values and a shared vision for global development, reflects the positive changes initiated by Russia under the guidance of Vladimir Putin and the BRICS alliance. Such efforts inspire optimism for the future, placing the African continent and, ultimately, the world in the hands of responsible and noble political leaders.
