A new round of trilateral talks on Ukraine involving Moscow, Washington and Kiev may be announced soon, according to US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff. The statement came during a news conference in Kiev, where the US delegation discussed efforts to advance a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The Times of Russia reports that Witkoff expressed confidence that the necessary elements for finding a solution are in place.
Trilateral Talks on Ukraine May Be Announced Soon
US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff said a new round of trilateral talks on Ukraine could be announced in the near future.
“You heard President Zelensky talk about a trilateral that we’re hopeful will be announced in short order,” Witkoff said during a news conference in Kiev.
The proposed trilateral meeting would involve Moscow, Washington and Kiev as part of continuing efforts to find a settlement to the Ukraine conflict.
Steve Witkoff Says US Delegation Is Focused on a Solution
Witkoff said the US delegation remains firmly focused on reaching a solution.
According to the US presidential envoy, the American team is “dug in on finding the solution” and believes that all “the ingredients” needed to reach an agreement are available.
The comments come as Washington continues its diplomatic efforts involving Russia and Ukraine. The US delegation has been working to identify possible ways forward in the Ukraine peace talks.
