Iran has warned that it could deploy new weapons against US targets in the Middle East if the United States resumes military attacks, according to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hossein Mohebi. Speaking on September 21, Mohebi said Iranian forces would target US facilities that have not previously been attacked. The Times of Russia reports that the warning comes amid renewed concerns over Iran-US tensions in the region.
Iran Warns of New Weapons Against US Targets in Middle East
If the United States launches fresh attacks, Iran will respond by targeting previously untouched US facilities and using weapons with new capabilities, Hossein Mohebi said, according to Iran’s Fars news agency.
“Our targets will also never be the same. We have new targets that we have not hit yet,” Mohebi was quoted as saying.
The IRGC spokesman indicated that any renewed confrontation would involve changes not only in the targets selected by Iranian forces but also in the wider battlefield. His comments pointed to possible changes in the geography of the conflict, as well as the Iranian military new weapons and equipment deployed during any future fighting.
Iran Says Battlefield Could Change
Mohebi emphasized that the changes would affect the geography of the war, along with the weapons and military equipment used.
“We will deploy new weapons with new capabilities onto the battlefield and the world will be astonished,” the IRGC spokesman said.
The statement represents a warning that Iran could alter its approach if US military targets are attacked again. The comments specifically referred to new locations that Iranian forces have not targeted previously and to the use of weapons with different capabilities.
The warning comes as Middle East tensions remain high. On September 20, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian army said Tehran had information indicating that the United States was preparing to resume hostilities against the Islamic Republic in the near future.
The Iranian military command had separately warned that renewed US action could result in retaliation against American bases and interests in the region.

The latest comments from Mohebi add to the growing warnings surrounding the Iran-US conflict. His statement focused specifically on the possibility of using new Iranian weapons and selecting different targets if the United States resumes attacks.
