Mumbai, February 18, 2026 — The globally recognized and popular BRICS Cultural Media Forum (BCMF) marked a historic milestone with the grand opening of the International “House of Bollywood” at Jio World Plaza in BKC, Mumbai, reinforcing its leadership in advancing cultural diplomacy and humanitarian cooperation across BRICS+ nations.

Organized under the visionary leadership of BCMF Global President Dr. Jaan Nissar Lone, the event positioned BCMF at the forefront of international cultural integration at the beginning of 2026 — the year of India’s Presidency in the BRICS Alliance.

The audience was also introduced to the grand opera “Mahabharata”, conceptualized by religious philosopher Sergei Dvoryanov, Vice President of BCMF, envisioned as a global spiritual and peacemaking initiative set to premiere in Kashmir. The feature film “Mast Malang” was also presented as part of the expanding international creative portfolio under BCMF’s platform.

An emotional highlight of the evening was the retrospective screening of “Taj Mahal… An Eternal Love Story”, directed by Akbar Khan, symbolizing the power of cinema as a bridge between civilizations.

At the invitation of BCMF and its leadership, a distinguished delegation from the WORLDBRICS International Consortium arrived in India to support international cultural and humanitarian collaboration within the BRICS+ framework.

As part of the inauguration of the International “House of Bollywood,” the First Joint Assembly of BCMF and WORLDBRICS was held, marking a new phase of structured cooperation focused on media, cinema, cultural heritage, and soft power diplomacy.

Address by BCMF Global President

In his keynote address, BCMF Global President Dr. Jaan Nissar Lone emphasized that the launch of the International “House of Bollywood” represents the beginning of a new cultural era for BRICS nations.

He underlined that BCMF is not merely an awards or networking platform, but a strategic international institution dedicated to conflict management, peace dialogue, creative economy development, and strengthening humanitarian ties among BRICS Plus countries.

Dr. Lone highlighted that 2026, under India’s BRICS Presidency, offers a historic opportunity to initiate a New Silk Road — a path built on diplomacy, culture, spiritual dialogue, and artistic collaboration.

In his response address, Marat Mazhidovich Islamov, Co-Chairman of the WORLDBRICS International Consortium, reflected on the historical significance of the ancient Silk Road, noting that it traditionally passed through Kashmir and Northern India, connecting the civilizations of Central Asia and beyond.

He emphasized that today, under the leadership of BCMF and with India playing a central role, a new Silk Road is emerging — one based not on trade caravans, but on soft power, culture, cinema, spirituality, and humanitarian dialogue. Islamov stated that initiatives such as the opera “Mahabharata,” planned to premiere in Kashmir, symbolize a modern pathway of unity and peace among BRICS Plus nations.

Symbol of Unity and Cultural Brotherhood

In a gesture symbolizing deep friendship and unity, Akbar Khan presented a sculptural marble model of the Taj Mahal to the WORLDBRICS International Consortium. The gift was formally accepted by Marat Mazhidovich Islamov on behalf of participating nations.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to strengthening cultural cooperation, Akbar Khan received formal appreciation from the Consortium along with memorable gifts from representatives of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan — reaffirming the spirit of cross-cultural respect and partnership.

Cultural Diplomacy at the Core of BRICS+ Integration

The opening of the International “House of Bollywood” clearly demonstrated that for BCMF, cultural heritage and humanitarian diplomacy are as vital as economic cooperation, digital services, and technological innovation in the BRICS+ integration process.

During the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between BCMF and WORLDBRICS, opening new prospects for joint cultural and media projects across the BRICS+ space.

The historic event at Jio World Plaza reaffirmed BCMF’s growing global stature as a leading platform for cultural diplomacy, while positioning WORLDBRICS as a strategic partner in advancing mutually beneficial cooperation among friendly nations. Together, the institutions showcased how art, cinema, and shared heritage can serve as powerful instruments of unity, peace, and long-term international collaboration in the evolving BRICS+ landscape.
