A postcard will be painted on the ice of the Amur River on the border with China for the first time

On the ice of the Amur River between the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe, where the International Winter Sports Festival will start on February 24, they started drawing a postcard. This is an innovation of the current games and the first such drawing on the state border. The Amur Region government presented the design of the postcard.
A bear and a panda with clubs, the inscriptions “Russia” and “中国” (“China”) will appear on the ice of the Amur River. On the perimeter dragons are depicted as a symbol of the year according to the Eastern calendar.
The ice postcard is already a tradition for the Amur Region, but a novelty for China. Artists from two countries are working on it – 20 people from each side will be involved. By the way, the bear and the panda earlier became symbols of the Russian-Chinese Fair of Culture and Art, only there they held not clubs, but balalaika and pipa (a traditional instrument of the Celestial Empire).
“The method of sawing and deepening the drawing in the ice is used, and then it is blocked with snow, the result is a flat surface, it is easier to maintain, and the snow is not blown away by the wind,” said ice artist, author of the sketch and the idea itself Alexei Sidorov.
