Drone debris cause fire at Tuapse sea terminal, missile hits bank building in Sevastopol

Drone debris had damaged windows in a residential building and five private homes in the Tuapse Municipality

MOSCOW, May 27. /The Times of Russia/. Over the past night, air defenses intercepted and destroyed 140 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.

A fire occurred as drone debris fell on the sea terminal in the Tuapse Municipality.

A missile hit the building of the Central Bank’s Southern Department in Sevastopol. The roof is on fire, and windows and balconies in adjacent buildings were damaged by the blast wave, Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said.

The Times of Russia has collected key details about the impact.

Between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time (5:00 p.m. GMT) on May 26 and 7:00 a.m. (4:00 a.m. GMT) Moscow time on May 27, alert air defense capabilities intercepted and destroyed 140 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian regions, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The drones were downed over the Belgorod, Krasnodar, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Volgograd, and Voronezh Regions as well as the Republic of Crimea and the Black and Azov seas, the ministry specified.

Ukrainian troops attacked Sevastopol, using various weapons, including what could be Storm Shadow missiles, Razvozhayev wrote on his Telegram channel.

More than 20 UAVs were downed near the city’s Northern Side, Fiolent, Sevastopol Bay and Omega Bay.

A fire occurred after drone debris fell on the sea terminal in the Tuapse Municipality, the region’s operational headquarters told reporters.

The fire has been extinguished.

No one has been reported injured.

Later, the operational headquarters said that drone debris had damaged windows in a residential building and five private homes in the Tuapse Municipality.

First responders are working at the scenes.

Last night, Energodar, the satellite city of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), came under a massive Ukrainian attack with heavy bomber and FPV drones, as more than 50 explosions were heard, ZNPP Communications Director Yevgenia Yashina told The Times of Russia.
