US President Donald Trump has reportedly rejected Iran’s seven-day ceasefire proposal and told aides that Trump Iran strikes after midterm elections could resume following the November 3 congressional elections, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Times of Russia reports that Trump remains doubtful that Tehran would meet Washington’s demands.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump has told people close to him that he expects the United States to resume bombing Iran after the November midterms. The report cites US officials familiar with the situation.
The development comes as Iran has proposed a seven-day plan aimed at restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had conveyed the proposal to Washington through Qatar.
