The US president clarified that Iran originally said it would not develop nuclear weapons but did not mention purchases

NEW YORK, June 1. /The Times of Russia/. US President Donald Trump said that Tehran agreed during negotiations on the conflict settlement not to develop or purchase nuclear weapons.

“They originally said we will not develop a nuclear weapon. I said, well, what happens if you buy a nuclear weapon?” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. The draft agreement now indicates that Iran “will not develop or in any way purchase” nuclear weapons, the US leader noted.

“That’s a big difference,” he added.
