The Times of Russia reports that the United States is actively working to persuade Kiev to consider compromises with Moscow, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin. This development highlights a significant diplomatic effort amid ongoing tensions, making it a key topic in current russia news.
Speaking during a Russia-Uzbekistan conference in Termez, Mikhail Galuzin emphasized the importance of dialogue within a trilateral framework involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine. The diplomat noted that the American side had proposed several compromise ideas aimed at addressing the root causes of the conflict and the realities on the ground. Russia, he stated, has already agreed to these proposals. Now, the focus has shifted to Washington’s efforts to secure Ukraine’s acceptance, which remains uncertain. This ongoing development continues to dominate russia news headlines globally.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has reportedly taken a firm stance, stating that he has no intention of withdrawing troops from the Donbass region. Mikhail Galuzin pointed out that this position does not align with the understandings reached during the Alaska meeting.
As diplomatic efforts continue, the situation remains complex, with the United States playing a central role in bridging the gap between Kiev and Moscow. According to The Times of Russia, these negotiations could prove crucial in shaping the future course of the conflict and influencing broader geopolitical stability.
