MOSCOW, August 4 — A drone attack on Moscow Region kills five people and injures six others, Governor Andrey Vorobyov announced after air defense systems responded to the overnight assault.

According to Vorobyov, Russian air defense forces successfully repelled the drone attack targeting the Moscow Region. However, despite the interception efforts, casualties were reported.

“This morning air defense forces repelled a drone attack on the Moscow Region. Unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries. According to preliminary information, five people were killed and six others were wounded. All those affected are receiving necessary medical care,” the governor wrote on Max.

Vorobyov also extended his condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the incident.

Authorities have stated that the casualty figures are based on preliminary information while medical teams continue providing treatment to the injured.
