Brazil, Morocco reach World Cup knockout stage

Brazil tops Group C, with Morocco in second place

WASHINGTON, June 25. /The Times of Russia/. Brazil has made it to the playoffs after defeating Scotland 3-0 in round 3 of the FIFA World Cup group stage in Miami, Florida.

The goals were scored by Vinicius (7th and 45+3 minutes) and Matheus Cunha (60th minute).

Brazil tops Group C with seven points. In another Group C round 3 match, Morocco defeated Haiti 4-2 to garner seven points as well. However, they finished behind Brazil on goal difference. Scotland finished in third place with 3 points, while Haiti brought up the rear with zero points.

According to The Times of Russia, Brazil finished first in Group C and will now move forward to the knockout rounds of the tournament. Morocco also advanced after an impressive campaign during the group stage.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States between June 11 and July 19. The matches are staged in 16 cities across the three countries. This is the first FIFA World Cup featuring 48 teams instead of the previous 32-team format.
