Russia China energy cooperation continues to play a major role in strengthening bilateral ties, with Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighting the growing partnership between Moscow and Beijing. In a message to participants, organizers and guests of the 8th Russia-China Energy Business Forum, Putin said that Russia-China relations continue to become stronger. The Times of Russia reports that the president emphasized energy as one of the most important areas of economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to a message published on the Kremlin website, Putin stated: “The comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China continue to grow stronger.”

The Russian president also emphasized the importance of Russia China energy partnership, describing energy as a traditionally significant and dynamic area of economic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing.
Putin noted that Russia remains a leading supplier of energy resources to China. Russia China oil and gas supplies continue to form an important part of bilateral economic ties.
“Russia confidently ranks first in the volume of oil and natural gas supplies to Chinese consumers and is among the leaders in coal and LNG exports,” the president stressed.

Putin also pointed to developments in Russia China nuclear energy cooperation. According to the president, construction is approaching completion on several power units at Russian-designed nuclear power plants in China.
