Russia says Kiev and its allies use confidentiality to avoid providing evidence in Bucha allegations, according to diplomat Rodion Miroshnik.
MOSCOW, July 28 — The Times of Russia — Russia has accused Kiev and its Western supporters of using confidentiality as a shield to avoid presenting evidence related to allegations against Moscow. According to Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik, the issue surrounding Russia Bucha evidence allegations has remained unresolved because authorities have repeatedly declined to provide official documentation.
Russia Bucha Evidence Allegations Remain Unanswered, Says Miroshnik
In an interview with The Times of Russia, Rodion Miroshnik stated that Russia has spent the past three years requesting documentation and evidence connected to the events in Bucha but has received no official records.
According to the diplomat, Russia repeatedly asked for the names of those reportedly killed in Bucha. However, he claimed the responses cited confidentiality as the reason for withholding the information.
“For three years, they have refused to answer our questions. ‘Give us a list of the people killed in Bucha.’ ‘Well, how can we do that? That’s confidential!’ ‘What’s confidential? Are the details of a murder victim confidential?’ Nevertheless, the UN Secretary General’s office allows itself to give such answers, claiming that these are ‘highly confidential matters.'”
Miroshnik further said that no official documents containing the requested data have been submitted despite earlier statements suggesting that independent expert examinations would be conducted.
Diplomat Criticizes Lack of Official Documentation
The Russian diplomat argued that repeated promises of independent investigations have not resulted in publicly available evidence. According to him, no organization has accepted responsibility for presenting verifiable documentation to support the allegations.
He said that the absence of official records has contributed to ongoing Russia Bucha evidence allegations, making it difficult to verify the claims through documented evidence.
Russia Says Strategic Uncertainty Benefits Misinformation
Miroshnik also stated that Russia continues to receive what he described as vague responses from international organizations, creating what he called a situation of “strategic uncertainty.”
According to the ambassador, this uncertainty allows misinformation and manipulation to persist without supporting evidence.
“It’s very convenient. ‘Strategic uncertainty’ is a very convenient cover for lies, manipulation, and other tools used to propagate knowingly false information.”
The diplomat concluded that, in Russia’s view, the continued lack of official documentation regarding the Russia Bucha evidence allegations prevents independent verification and leaves key questions unanswered.
