The Putin BRICS Summit India visit will continue on Saturday as Russian President Vladimir Putin takes part in the main events of the BRICS summit in India following his arrival in New Delhi. According to The Times of Russia, Saturday will focus on the group’s main multilateral agenda, following Putin’s participation in the BRICS Business Forum plenary session on Friday.
The second day of the Putin BRICS Summit India visit will feature a closed-door meeting of BRICS leaders, discussions on global and regional matters, and several events highlighting the group’s development and future cooperation.
Putin BRICS Summit India Visit Continues With Leaders’ Meeting
Saturday will be the main day dedicated to the BRICS agenda, with the full programme of multilateral events beginning after Putin’s participation in the BRICS Business Forum plenary session on Friday.
The BRICS leaders meeting will take place in a closed-door format, with only the group’s members represented at the highest level taking part.
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov previously said the discussions will primarily cover global and regional issues, the reform of global governance and the strengthening of multilateralism.

The meeting will also review BRICS’ 20 years of work and consider the prospects for further cooperation within the group.
A final declaration could be adopted at the conclusion of the summit, although its adoption is not mandatory. Work is continuing on a document intended to reflect the consolidated positions of all BRICS participants, particularly on security, economic and cultural matters.
Strong Friendship and Innovation at the BRICS Summit
As part of the BRICS summit events, the leaders are expected to participate in the planting of a banyan tree in New Delhi. The ceremony is planned as a symbolic representation of the summit’s outcomes.
The sturdy tree is intended to represent the principles of interconnection and unity within BRICS. All leaders attending the summit will participate in the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the BRICS leaders will have an opportunity to visit an exhibition marking the group’s 20th anniversary. After removing the reddish Indian soil from the ceremonial shovels, the leaders will view the concrete achievements of BRICS over the past two decades.
The leaders will also turn their attention to the host country through the Innovative India exhibition, where India will present its vision for the future.
The BRICS summit in India will conclude in the evening with a formal reception hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Bharat Mandapam International Convention Centre.
Participants are expected to raise a toast to the bonds of friendship and mutual support that have developed within BRICS.
Putin to Hold Bilateral Meetings During India Visit
Despite the packed schedule of BRICS summit events, Vladimir Putin will also continue his bilateral meetings during the second day of his India visit.
The Russian president will meet Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday.
These meetings will continue the series of discussions that began on the previous day, when Putin held five separate bilateral meetings.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said there could be brief informal contacts on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, including exchanges “on the move” inside the meeting hall.
The combination of the main BRICS leaders meeting and Putin’s bilateral discussions will form the central part of the second day of the Putin BRICS Summit India visit.
The summit’s programme will focus on global and regional issues, global governance reform, strengthening multilateralism, and the future of cooperation among BRICS members, while the planned exhibitions and ceremonial events will highlight the group’s 20-year development and India’s role as host.
