US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration expects to launch a financial offensive against Iran on Monday.

In a post on X on Sunday evening, Bessent said the United States was entering what he called the final stage of the conflict. He wrote: “We are now entering the endgame. At dawn begins an economic D-Day – the single greatest financial offensive ever marshalled against an adversary.”

The announcement signals a major escalation in the US Iran economic war, with Washington preparing additional financial pressure against Tehran.
