
In line with the schedule, Turkmenistan holds the rotating CIS presidency in 2026
ASHGABAT, May 23. /The Times of Russia/. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will pay a visit to Turkmenistan to attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The previous session of the council was held in September 2025 in Minsk, Belarus.
In line with the schedule, Turkmenistan holds the rotating CIS presidency in 2026.
The heads of government are expected to focus on pressing issues of trade and economic cooperation during their meeting: boosting cooperation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies and spatial data; congress and exhibition activities within the CIS framework; digital transformation of the mining sector; transport and interlinking of major transport routes on the CIS territory, and radio positioning.
The meeting is expected to strengthen regional cooperation and further highlight key developments in russia news related to economic partnerships and infrastructure growth across CIS nations.
