Putin Reviews Preparations for Russian-American Summit in Anchorage

MOSCOW, August 15 — President Vladimir Putin convened a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Russian-American summit, scheduled to take place in Anchorage on August 15.

Addressing senior officials, Putin outlined two key points on the agenda. First, he provided an update on the ongoing negotiation process concerning the Ukrainian crisis, including the current status of bilateral talks with the Ukrainian delegation. While many participants were already generally aware of developments, the President pledged to offer more detailed insights.

Second, Putin discussed the state of dialogue with the current U.S. administration, noting what he described as “vigorous and sincere efforts” by Washington to help end hostilities, resolve the crisis, and reach mutually beneficial agreements.

“These efforts are aimed at creating long-term peace not only between our countries but also in Europe and globally,” Putin said. He added that potential agreements on strategic offensive arms control could become the next stage in these talks, further solidifying stability and cooperation.

The Anchorage summit is expected to address both the conflict in Ukraine and broader issues of international security.
