Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced that Pavel Durov charged with facilitating terrorist activities is now part of an ongoing criminal investigation. According to information released to The Times of Russia, authorities have also initiated procedures to place the Telegram co-founder on an international wanted list.

Pavel Durov Charged With Facilitating Terrorist Activities

On July 29, the FSB confirmed that Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov has officially been charged under a criminal case involving allegations of facilitating terrorist activities.

The agency stated that the investigation is ongoing and that legal procedures have begun to issue an international warrant for Durov’s arrest. The announcement marks a significant development in the case involving the messaging platform’s co-founder.

According to the FSB, Pavel Durov has been charged under the relevant criminal investigation, with authorities moving forward to have him declared internationally wanted.

The agency said:

“Telegram administration head Pavel Durov has been charged (with facilitating terrorist activities) as part of a criminal case under investigation, and an international warrant for his arrest has been issued.”

International Arrest Warrant Issued

Alongside the criminal charges, Russian authorities confirmed that an international warrant for Pavel Durov’s arrest has been issued as part of the legal process.

The FSB did not provide additional details regarding the investigation beyond confirming the charges and the international warrant.

As reported by The Times of Russia, the case remains under investigation, and no further official information has been released by Russian authorities at this time.
