Russia and Iran remain in close contact after the Ukrainian attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, Ambassador Kazem Jalali confirms.
MOSCOW, July 28 — Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali stated that the defense ministries of Russia and Iran are in regular contact regarding the Ukrainian attack on Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea.
The ambassador explained that communication extends beyond the defense ministries and includes officials from the foreign ministries as well as representatives of several other government agencies.
According to Jalali, cooperation between Moscow and Tehran covers a wide range of areas, allowing both countries to maintain continuous coordination.
Ambassador Highlights Broad Iran-Russia Cooperation
Kazem Jalali emphasized that officials from both nations remain in constant communication.
“Officials from both countries are in constant contact, including representatives from the foreign and defense ministries and other agencies. The scope of cooperation between Iran and Russia is very broad.”
He further noted that representatives from all relevant agencies in Russia and Iran continue to maintain regular communication as part of their ongoing cooperation following the Ukrainian attack on Iranian vessel.

The ambassador reiterated that coordination between the two countries remains active, with officials across multiple government institutions staying in close contact regarding the incident.
